HotReference is a shareable bibliographic database. With it, you can:
Organize your bibliographies into categories.
Attach postscripts,pdfs,docs files to the papers.
Make annotated bibliographies with your personal comments on each paper (like "Post-it's").
Allow other users (selected and registered by you) to access and comment your bibliography according to different permission levels.
Automatically format bibliographies according to different standard formats.
Import "Web of Science"(ISI®), "Pubmed"(NLM®) and "Bibtex"(Latex) files containing sets of bibliographies.
Export "Bibtex"(Latex) files containing sets of bibliographies.
Use data already in the database to help you registering papers manually (vocabulary control).
Make backups of your references in your HD.
(NEW!!!) Now you can use HotReference to make the publications list of your personal website! It's easy! You create a public category containing a set of publications and copy a short HTML code into your website. Thus, if you modify that category content, your homepage gets automatically updated!
HotReference is a tool created because the need for scientific work organization. It evolves according to the authors' needs and with the suggestions given by the users. The system is suposed to be accessible through the internet (without installing any program) and to work on any platform (Windows, Linux, Mac, etc). HotReference is free because it is based on the information supplied by the users community and it is mantained (hosting costs) by the authors who maintain it on a donation and ad basis.
